Unit records
Read the organization chart
Turn the editable hierarchy into a branch-aware visual chain with live Cadet counts and scoped visibility.
Guide at a glance
How to use this guide
Start with
Begin with the existing record and its history. Search before creating, and distinguish correction, status change, and deletion.
By the end
The authoritative record is accurate, linked, placed correctly, and still explains how it reached its current state.

The chart is a view, not a second structure
The chart renders the same academic-year hierarchy maintained in Unit Structure. Names, mascots, mottos, and Cadet counts update from the underlying unit data.
Use the editor to change the hierarchy; use the chart to inspect and communicate it.
Counts roll up through the tree
Assigned Cadets are counted at the lowest placement and rolled into each parent formation. A parent total should therefore reconcile with the visible children.
A missing count usually points to an unplaced Cadet or a record attached to a different year or formation.
Cadet visibility is scoped
The chart route is available to signed-in unit members. Non-instructor visibility narrows to the structural area the Cadet is entitled to view.
This is distinct from roster visibility and from the permission to edit the structure.
Empty chart behavior
A unit with no configured top-level formations shows an explicit empty state rather than inventing a default tree.
Build and save the hierarchy first, then return to the chart.
